Saving Space with Wall Mounted Furniture

Interior décor has evolved a lot in the recent past. Gone are the days when people lived as large families in huge houses. Huge halls with multiple rooms and a huge portico are a thing of the past now. With more and more people preferring the nuclear family setup, spaces have become smaller. Small homes are popular because they are highly functional.

With the right choice of space-saving solutions like wall mounted furniture, even small homes can look bigger and more visually appealing than before.

Why choose wall mounted furniture?

Are you wondering why wall mounted furniture may be the right choice for your small home? Here are some reasons that will convince you to invest in a few of these pieces right now.

  • Space-saving

The most important benefit of wall mounted pieces is that they help to save a lot of living room space. A wall mounted foldable desk, for example, is highly functional and beneficial.

You can unmount the desk from the wall when you need it, and you can mount it back with proper hinges on the wall when you don’t need it. This way, you can make the most of your floor space and use it for other productive purposes.

  • Multiple functionality

Wall mounted pieces and other space-saving furniture ideas can be used for multiple functions. For example, a shoe rack with seat comes with at least a couple of shelves for storing up to 10 pairs of shoes and a comfortable seating option.

While you can sit on these to wear your shoes, you can also use them to relax at other times. The beauty of these space-saving furniture pieces is that they can be used for multiple purposes with equal ease and comfort.

A wall mounted foldable desk can be unmounted and used as a study table, office table, painting desk for kids, counter for cutting vegetables, and other household tasks. These come with adjustable height dimensions to suit your requirements, making them prudent investments.

  • Increased visual appeal

If you want to make your small home look better and more beautiful than before, all you need to do is invest in some stylish pieces of wall mounted furniture. A shoe rack with seat, Murphy beds with storage compartments, dressing tables with shelves, bedside lamps with storage areas, wall mounted tables, and wraparound shelves are some popular ideas that sell like hotcakes among the young generation of today.

Thanks to these furniture pieces, you can create maximum effect with minimal effort. Though they look subtle, wall mounted furniture ideas have the potential to make any small space look incredible.

  • Great value for money

Wall mounted furniture pieces may look costly when you first take a look at them. However, when you calculate their cost-benefit analysis, you will know that their benefits easily outweigh the amount spent on them. For example, buying a bed and a storage unit may cost you a lot of money.

However, if you buy a space-saving bed with storage units at the sides, it may be a more prudent investment choice than the previous one. With space-saving furniture, you may spend slightly more initially, but you are sure to enjoy the returns on your investment for an extended period of time.

While wall mounted furniture pieces do look stylish and bring a lot of benefits to your home, you must choose the right brand of products. It is a good idea to spend some time doing online research on these products and choose the ones that will fit the dimensions of your home the best.

The furniture may look great, but if it doesn’t suit the style of your home, your investment will go for a toss; hence, it is good to be mindful of your investment.

Things To Know Before Going To A Diagnostic Centre

A diagnostic test is very helpful in identifying problems at an early stage. These tests provide the doctors with clear 2D, 3D, or 4D images of internal organs, muscles and tissues. The doctor studies these images to accurately diagnose any health issue that you may have, and advise you the right treatment for the same. In some cases, a diagnostic test can also be used as a proactive measure to prevent yourself from certain ailments.

Are you planning to visit one of the many CT scan centres in Bangalore for a proactive test, or a test advised by your doctor? Here are a few points you need to keep in mind in that case.

Know about the types of tests

Many people get uncomfortable about taking a diagnostic test because they aren’t aware of the details of these tests. Knowledge is the only way to get rid of your fear and discomfort when visiting a diagnostic centre. When you visit the best diagnostic centre in Bangalore, the radiologists there will brief you on the different types of tests available at your disposal.

Some may include only a single blood test, while others may include a package of over 20 vital tests. Go through these packages in detail to know which ones might help you. Mostly, packages with multiple tests are available at attractive discounts; hence, you may want to consider them for your periodic checks for yourself and your family members.

Fasting for the test

Some tests may not require you to fast for 10 to 12 hours before, but some like blood sugar tests, lipid profile testing and the like will require you to fast for at least 10 hours before the test is being taken.

Check the same with your doctor or radiologist before you undergo the test, so that the reports are an accurate representation of your health. Not knowing the prerequisites and conditions for the testing may result in the report showing severe anomalies, and the doctor may ask you to do a retest if he finds something fishy in these reports.

Blood sample is obtained as part of the tests

While some diagnostic tests involve X-rays and scans, most of them will require the technician to draw blood from your veins. As a first-timer, you may feel a bit nervous when going to the diagnostic centre; however, please be assured that all you feel is just a prick, like an ant bite.

The technician will draw the required quantity of blood and send it to the lab for further testing. The entire process will only take a few minutes.

Home services offered

Today, with changing times, diagnostic testing has become a lot more comfortable and painless than before.

If you have opted for the services of the best diagnostic centre in Bangalore, or elsewhere, you can be assured that a technician will visit your home to take the tests, when you book a day or two prior.

The results will be sent to you in your email on the same day of the test or within a maximum time of 48 hours.

Conclusion

It is time to get rid of the fear associated with diagnostic testing and embrace the importance of such tests. When it concerns your health, it is a good idea to be proactive, and diagnostic tests help you with that exactly.

Your doctor would recommend certain tests for you based on your current symptoms, age and gender. Get these tests done at the intervals recommended by your expert, and you will have these diagnostic tests to thank for, as they play a big role in helping you maintain the overall quality of your life.

You could also check with your health insurance policy to see if it covers the cost of these tests. If yes, you don’t have to spend anything out of your pocket when visiting the diagnostic centre.

Best Space Saving Furniture For Your Budget

When it comes to choosing furniture for your homes, especially small homes, a little bit of smartness can go a long way. With the changing times today, many youngsters move out of their parents’ homes and rent/buy small spaces for themselves. Many furniture companies have come up with some brilliant designs of space-saving furniture, to cater to the demands of these people. Listed below are a few idea of space-saving furniture that people of all budget levels should think of investing in.

Murphy Bed

One of the modern space-saving furniture pieces you should buy for small homes is a Murphy bed. This sofa bed helps you transform the space into a bedroom, or a living room, as per your convenience. These tend to widen the floor space of small rooms. You can stretch out the bed to make it a couch during the day, while you can retract the couch to the wall, and transform it into a bed at night.

Queen-Size Bed With Storage

Yet another smart solution you can think when buying space-saving furniture – the queen-size bed with storage. The queen size bed with storage is big enough to occupy almost the entire floor area of your home. So, it is only natural that you don’t block your space further by buying big storage units. A trendy style in space-saving furniture these days is the storage beds! A queen-size bed with storage is exactly what you need for your small space. These beds come with storage bunks underneath or at the sides.  You can store all bedding related things, and other essentials here, so that you don’t have to invest in separate storage units for the same.

Foldable wall table

A dining table may be too big for your home, but when you have friends and family over, you have to host them. So what do you do in this case? Foldable wall tables are the perfect solutions for you, in this case. These tables can be mounted on the walls with simple hinges. When not in use, they can stay mounted, but when you have people over, you can release these tables from the walls to act as a dining table. Wall-mounted tables not only improve the functionality of your homes, but they also play a huge role in increasing the visual appeal of your space.

Table Lamp with shelves

The idea of space-saving furniture is to make the most of minimal pieces. So here is a good idea on those lines –a table lamp with shelves! Today, you will find beautiful table lamps with 3 or 4 layers of shelves in almost all furniture studios. While the table lamp improves the look of your house, the shelves help you keep items like books, coffee mugs, plants and more.

Bunk beds

If you have kids at home, the best space-saving furniture you can invest in is the bunk bed. Buying two beds for two kids is not only costly, but it also occupies a lot of your floor space. Bunk beds, with cute little stairs at the sides to get to the top bunk help you place two beds in the place of one. The best thing is that it leaves you with enough space in your kids’ room for other furniture pieces like a study table, a shelf for toys and more.

Storage under the stairs

When you have stairs in your home to get to the first floor, you can think of putting the area under the stairs to good use. You can keep storage cabinets there, or have open shelves with plants, or do just about anything to maximize this space for storage. Since this space is concealed under the stairs, it doesn’t make your home look messy at all.

4 Things to Know Before Getting an Ultrasound

Have you been advised to get an ultrasound? You might have many questions in your mind about preparing for the same. Here, we bring to you the top 4 things you should be aware of before getting an ultrasound. However, before that let us understand how ultrasound scans work, and help to give clear and accurate images of different internal & external parts of our body.

During an ultrasound, a small ultrasound probe is placed on the part of the body that needs to be examined. This probe is connected to a monitor. As the technician moves the probe on a particular part of your body, it sends off sound waves, which are then converted into images. These images are displayed on the monitor.

The results are then printed off for the doctors to examine the condition, and advise further treatment. Today, thanks to the advancements in technology, you can get 3D/4D Ultrasound in Bangalore and other advanced diagnostic centers. These give you crystal clear images, and help the doctors in accurate diagnosis.

Top 4 things to know before an ultrasound scan

  • Before the ultrasound

Preparing for the ultrasound is more important than the actual process itself. Different ultrasound scans require you to prepare differently. For example, a pregnancy scan, urinary bladder scan or pelvic area scan may require you to drink a lot of water, and not pass urine before the scan process. Sometimes, your doctor may advise you not to eat or drink anything about 10 to 12 hours before the scan, if the body parts to be examined includes your digestive system, gall bladder, liver, pancreas and the like.

You may ask to remove your clothes or wear a dress given by the hospital for certain types of scans. In some other cases, your doctor may give you a small dose of sedation to help you relax and get clear images of the ultrasound.

  • During the ultrasound

A doctor, radiographer, sonographer, or a trained professional in this field will conduct your ultrasound. Regardless of the type of ultrasound you need to undergo, the process may take anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes. If you visit the best diagnostic center in Bangalore, or professional centers in your locality, you will be briefed on all the details of the ultrasound. They will give you complete reassurance and help you feel relaxed during the process. Mostly, you will be asked to undergo one of the three different types of scans – external, internal, or endoscopic ultrasound.

In external scans, the ultrasound probe is moved over the part of the body that needs to be examined. Eg. Abdominal scans

In internal scans, the ultrasound probe is inserted into the part of the body that needs to be examined. Eg. Transvaginal scans

In endoscopic ultrasound scans, the probe is first attached to a narrow, long tube, and the tube is then inserted into the body to get accurate images of the chest and abdomen area.

  • After the ultrasound

Your doctor will advise you about continuing your normal activities after the scan. Usually, if you took an external ultrasound, you can resume your normal activities almost immediately after the scanning. For internal and endoscopic ultrasound scans, and for scans that required you to take a sedative, you may be kept under observation for a few hours. You can go home after the effect of the sedation wears off.

  • Side effects of ultrasound scans

Since ultrasound scans don’t expose you to any harmful radiation, it doesn’t carry any side effects or risks. For internal ultrasound scans, you may face a slight discomfort or uneasiness when the probe is inserted into your body. Endoscopic Ultrasound scans, however, can be slightly painful, as the long tube is pressed further into your food pipe and other parts of the body. If you have any specific allergies (like that of latex) you should inform your doctor without fail.

Benefits of Investing in Space-Saving Furniture

Are you looking to invest in stylish-looking furniture that doesn’t occupy too much floor area? Space-saving furniture is the answer for you, in that case. As the name indicates, space-saving furniture has a compact style and can fit perfectly even in small spaces.

Some of the best examples of these furniture pieces are foldable beds, bed-cum-sofas, wall-mounted dining tables and more. Why do you need to invest in space-saving furniture? Here are some benefits you can enjoy when you make this decision.

More comfort and functionality

The primary benefit of using space-saving furniture is to make your home more comfortable and functional than it already was. Space-saving furniture occupies very little space, and they help you clear up many floor areas, which you can otherwise use for productive purposes.

A dining table, for example, can make your small hall look a little cramped. A good idea, in this case, would be to invest in a smart piece of wall-mounted dining table, which comes with easy-to-fit panels. This way, you can unmount the table only during your eating hours, making your hall look far more functional.

Value for money

Space-saving furniture is hugely popular today because they are cost-efficient. A foldable, flexible bed is much cheaper than a durable, wooden, non-portable one. So, space-saving furniture is definitely the way to go for you if you are designing your home on a budget. However, not just the cost factor attracts you to these furniture pieces.

Your home’s entire style and ambiance change magically when you install space-saving furniture. Your kitchen looks clutter-free when you use foldable storage cabinets. Your bedroom looks neat and classy when you install compact wardrobes. When you use a wall-mounted dining table, your living room suddenly looks big and spacious. The examples can go on. In a nutshell, space-saving furniture makes your homes look classy and spacious effortlessly.

Increased flexibility

With space-saving furniture, you can make your homes very flexible. You can drastically change the functionality of certain spaces in your home with these furniture styles. With minimal, smart and intelligent uses of compact furniture pieces, you can change your bedroom into your office room! You can use foldable or mountable furniture pieces in your kitchen, living room, balcony and anywhere else to change the functionality that suits your different requirements.

Increased reachability

Space-saving furniture makes things in your home more accessible to you than before. Smart storage choices that don’t occupy too much space can be used to store all related things in one place. A wall-mounted dining table, for example, can also include foldable storage cabinets underneath. These cabinets can hold the cutlery, paper napkins and anything you might need while serving and eating meals. This will save you a lot of time you will spend otherwise looking for items in your home.

As you can see, space-saving furniture can bring a magical transformation and effective functionality within your home if used correctly.  Some smart ideas that may come in handy for you when investing in space-saving furniture are stackable shelves, a wall-mounted dining table or other wall-mounted pieces, furniture with inbuilt storage cabinets, pull-out tables and cabinets, beds with big storage compartments under them, and so on.

Conclusion

The choices are endless. It is about choosing the best space-saving furniture pieces for your home and getting the most out of them. Choosing good brands of space-saving furniture is highly recommended to enjoy their durability and efficiency.

Solutions to the Energy Crisis: How to Achieve Sustainable Energy?

Over the last couple of centuries, energy needs have skyrocketed dramatically. This increase is primarily because of the boost in the transportation and industry sectors. The more the power generation, the more the requirement. This is the reason that there’s a void that’s beginning to appear in the energy resources.

However, as we move ahead to a prosperous future, it is not unknown that fossil fuels have started leaving unmatched carbon footprints behind them, causing immense pollution. Also, they are on the brink of exhaustion as their reserves are limited. This is a significant challenge, the energy crisis our societies face and will have to face further.

What is an energy crisis?

To understand the ways of combating the energy crisis, one needs first to understand the whole concept of the energy crisis stems from the foreseeable end of the cycle of energy supplying sources like oil, gas, coal and so on, which, in addition, have been a crucial part in producing a considerable increase in greenhouse gases (GHG) globally.

Not only is the exhaustion of these nonrenewable resources a matter of concern, but also the climate change left behind because of their constant usage has left a notable amount of concern that promotes people to look for alternative energy sources.

Some Causes of Energy Crisis

Global energy consumption is increasing as the demands are on a constant surge. This shall soon result in having to face a shortage of fossil fuels in the coming years. Therefore, the availability of reserves is an essential source of concern, and this demands immediate attention.

Some of the most notable cases of the energy crisis areas are listed below:

  • OVERCONSUMPTION

Our current consumption model on a global basis almost wholly relies on the use of non-renewable energy sources. At the current consumption rate, this isn’t an unknown fact that fossil fuels will soon run out. This is the actual beginning of the problems related to the energy crisis.

  • OVERPOPULATION

These data revolve around current consumption, and there’s no denying that the consumption shall increase every day. The energy demands also will be amplified by the demographic.

  • AGING INFRASTRUCTURE

Another reason for energy shortage and scarcity is the poor infrastructure for power generating equipment. Most of the energy-producing companies do very little to go in sync with the modern-day facilities. They are keen on using outdated equipment that limits energy production as a whole. The need to upgrade the infrastructure and set a high-performance standard is the need of the hour.

Energy crisis solutions.

There have been many modifications over time made to combat the energy crisis and meet high standards of sustainability and profitability. Each solution has gone through a strict assessment process and has been acclaimed by experts.

Possible solutions to the energy crisis

  • Shifting gradually towards renewable resources.

The best possible solution is to reduce the world’s dependence on non-renewable resources. This can be done in many ways. From improving overall conservation efforts to finding new replacements. Much of the industrial age saw a gradual rise in using fossil fuels. But now, more and more focus is put on using renewable energies – such as steam, solar, and wind by Renewable energy companies.

  • Taking care of the things with a balanced thought :

The primary concern doesn’t solely revolve around the fact that the world will run out of nonrenewable energy very soon. There’s also a lot of anxiety that the use of coal and other such products will continue to pollute the atmosphere. This may also destroy other natural resources in mining the coal that must be replaced as an energy source.

  • Buy Energy-Efficient Products

An ingenious yet effective method is the replacement of traditional bulbs with CFLs and LEDs. They use fewer watts of electricity, and such appliances tend to last longer. If millions of people across the globe switch to such forms of LEDs and CFLs for residential and commercial purposes alike, the energy demand can go down dramatically, and an energy crisis can be averted.

  • Easier Grid Access

People generally tend to use different options to generate power.  This variety of power sources must be permitted to plug into the grid and given credit for the energy they feed into it. The hassles of getting credit for supplying surplus power back into the grid should be eradicated. Besides, subsidy on renewable power sources like solar panels should encourage more people to explore.

  • Energy Simulation

Big corporates in power can use energy simulation software. These corporations can even go as far as redesigning the building unit and reduction of the running business energy costs. Engineers, architects, and designers could further use this design to build the most energy-efficient buildings and reduce carbon footprint. Small efforts by individual companies can go a long way in changing how the energy crisis is tackled.

  • Common Stand on Climate Change.

Both developed, developing, and under-developed countries should adopt a joint stand regarding climate change. They should focus more on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This can be achieved through an effective cross-border mechanism. With current population growth and overconsumption of resources, the consequence of global warming and climate change is a hard pill to swallow. It’s the combined global effort that can give a satisfactory result.

Belonging to the birthplace of Kalamkari art, SriKalahasti, he grew up surrounded by this art form and was deeply attracted and influenced by it.

Style of Painting

Ramesh Gorjala believes in engaging the audience by depicting Hindu mythological tales in his art work, thus keeping them captivated in his mystical world of imagination.

Ramesh Gorjala’s paintings are a mixture of Kalamkari art and his unique style of telling multiple stories within a single painting. His art has evidently outlined figures using fine pen, which is the typical feature of Kalamkari.

The paintings usually depict Vishnu, Ganesha, Krishna, Hanuman and Kamdhenu. He uses figures and texts with multiple mystic tales and  combines them inside the main figure.

First he sketches on a plain canvas and then fills it with colours and motifs. Then he gives the painting a story and structure and fills them with vibrant colours.

He uses a palette balancing warm colours with bright tones. His paintings have orange, golden yellow, sandalwood, various shades of red and green.

His paintings also have a checkerboard pattern with shades of white, grey and black in the backgrounds giving them a modern touch.
